Eglise Sainte-Valérie

Description

In 1179, the Viscounts of Aubusson donated the land of Pontcharral to the monastery of Blessac. A chapel with a three-bay nave was built in the 14th century. From 1564 to the French Revolution, the parish church was an annex of the Chambon abbey. Extensive restoration and alterations were carried out in the 19th century (two chapels, sacristy, paintings). The church comprises a nave, the first bay of which serves as the choir. The bell tower is pierced by three semicircular arches housing the bells, and buttressed by two buttresses, one of which contains a staircase.
