Description

The Marais de Sainte-Croix is an area rich in specific flora and fauna. In the second half of the twentieth century, man destroyed the area by storing rubble and fill, some of it polluted. Containment of polluted soil, terracing and the restoration of the Bresle's arms now allow it to revive to the rhythm of the tides.
The Marais de Sainte-Croix occupies a privileged position for migratory palearctic birds. Halfway between the Urals (breeding area) and the Sahara (wintering area), some species choose to stay here for the winter and to breed.
3 observation posts and a 200m-long educational trail on stilts enable you to observe migratory birds.
3 Highland cattle graze the marsh.
Have fun looking for them on the 12Ha of marshland! Very shy by nature, they're now getting closer. Don't scare them!
