Monastère Féminin de Coyroux

600 meters from the town of Aubazine lie the remains of the Coyroux women's monastery, abandoned in 1791. All that remains are the ruined walls of the church. However, excavations carried out on the site between 1976 and 1989 have enabled us to reconstruct the layout of the monastic buildings and identify the major transformations they underwent over the centuries.

The priory was supplied by the male abbey via the Chemin des Moines, built to link the two monasteries. This path is now a pleasant place to stroll.

The female monastery is not open to visitors, but the remains are visible from the road.
