Jardin des sculptures
Description
The former Bosquet Square has been rehabilitated and transformed into a Sculpture Garden to be integrated into the Espace des Arts enclosure.
Designed by the Direction Qualité du Cadre de Vie et Nature en Ville (Quality of Life and Nature in the City Department), this site was conceived as a planted space dedicated to sculpture, in the form of an enclosed garden square.
Its composition is based on a central area opening onto Ernest Gabard's La Fontaine aux enfants, which has been restored and reopened to water. The latter, designed in Art Deco style, obviously resonates with the museum built in the 1930s.
On either side of Ernest Gabard's work, two spaces in the form of garden alcoves house sculptures by Charles Despiau, Paul Paulin, Robert Wlérick and Georges Clément de Swiecinski.
