The collection of art works of the city was initiated in 1910 by Fernande Sadler (1869-1949), artist-painter, writer, archaeologist and mayor of Grez-sur-Loing from 1945 to 1947.
His painter friend Charles Moreau-Vauthier, finding the walls of the town hall too “severe” suggested that she decorate them with the paintings that painters, who lived in Grez, had entrusted to him. She will then encourage her artist friends to donate to enrich this collection. To this day, artists, individuals or associations offer works to the Museum.
Free entry.
