Château de Tastes

The Château de Tastes, or Château Sainte-Croix, was erected during the 14th century, and rebuilt in the late 15th century. There is only a wall with a trefoil openning from this time.
The remains of bays and fireplaces confirm the existence in the Middel Ages of a main block, a corps de logis, on the northwestern side.
On the frontage overlooking the plateau, the quadrangular enclosure, with circular towersand and protected by moats. Those are the remaining medieval architecture elements.
Important renovations weremade during the 19th century on the frontage overhanging the river.
During the 1970's, it became the town hall.
