
The chapel was built in 1627 and dedicated to Saint Bernard de Menthon and Saint Barbara.
Gaspard Cornuty, prior curate of Gilly until 1633, is rector of the Aidier village chapel, dedicated to Saint Bernard de Menthon and Saint Barbara, as well as the Saint Michael chapel in the Gilly church.
March 7, 1879: André Portier commissioned his heir to repair the chapel floor and install a tin cross.
1973: Restoration of the chapel is undertaken by a committee set up to finance the work.
The commune contributed 2,500 francs.
The architect Albert Serraz, from Montmélian, was commissioned to carry out a survey of the site.
Local residents and craftsmen provided labor and volunteer work.
