With its warhead shape, it is part of the Pyrenean architectural heritage. Due to its position, it offers an exceptional panorama on the north side of Long Peak and on the Roland Breach.
This unguarded refuge is mainly for hikers on the Neouvielle tour, but also for mountaineers who climb Long Peak, Neouvielle's Turon, Bear's Coume Peak or the Pic of the Three Advisers. It also welcomes fishermen, looking for beautiful days of fishing in the Pyrenean mountain lakes.

Very beautiful refuge maintained by the Alpine Club of Lourdes-Cauterets. Table, benches, stove, wood mounted, blankets, electricity and emergency radio. 8 real places to sleep, but living space for four people max. Water at the nearby Lac du Pourtet. Very tricky access from the south in winter, high mountains.
