This atypical site presents visitors with around five hundred stone, wood, plant and terracotta objects from the African continent over a period of 1,000 years.
All these objects are linked to the animist rituals present in Africa.
They bear witness to the beliefs and spiritual practices practiced by all the peoples of the world before polytheism, then monotheism.
These objects are not sacred; they are tools respected for their precise ritual function within the community. Masks are mainly used to ensure success for hunters, fishermen and farmers.
Statues are used to promote the fertility of humans, livestock and plants, and to honor ancestors.
