Petit Mont-Cenis Pass

Petit Mont-Cenis Pass
Petit Mont-Cenis Pass

Description

The Petit Mont Cenis Col (in tialian Piccolo Moncenisio) at 2183 m altitude remais above the Maurienne and Susa valleys. It belongs to the Mont Cenis mountains.
It is open between Pointe Droset (2,917 m) and Pointe de Bellecombe (2,755 m). It links Bramans in France (north-west) to Moncenisio and Susa in Italy (south-east).
The narrow asphalt road that serves it breaks away from the D1006 at the Col du Mont-Cenis and, after skirting the lake of the same name to the north-west, passes near the refuge of Petit Mont-Cenis and joins the pass on the Val de Suse side. On the Maurienne side, a path descends into the Ambin valley and allows you to reach Bramans on foot or by mountain bike.
