At 30 km in the northwest of Bordeaux, in Samonac, Château Macay is a 42 hectare domain of the Côtes de Bourg vineyard. The name of this big property in the rich historic past comes from its first owner, a Scotsman of the clan of the Mac Kay who contributed to bouter the English people outside Aquitaine at the end of the Hundred Years' War. Today, this beautiful chateau which kept its charm of former days is managed by Hervé and Frédérique Descourvières, helped by their three sons. This family of passionate wine growers reserves you a warm welcome accompanying you in its vineyards, showing you the impressive plastered red wine storehouses, vestiges of past, before introducing you to the wine tasting.
Château awarded "Vignoble et chais en Bordelais": free visit and tasting everyday from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. and from 2.00 p.m. to 18.00 p.m., on appointment.
