Discover the Caen racecourse through its history, its major events and behind the scenes. Your guide will explain how one of France?s oldest racecourses works, and the major events that make up its calendar of 28 annual meetings.
In addition to its racing program, the hippodrome de la Prairie also qualifies future racehorses on its top-quality track. Head to the stables to find out how all horses are checked on arrival (identity, vaccinations, etc.) and all the equipment used for racing. The tour then focuses on the profile of the Caen racetrack, its use and maintenance. The tour concludes in the weighing area, where the entourage of the winning horses are notified that they have been tested for doping. On your return to the hall, you'll be introduced to horse betting by a specialist, who will accompany you as you place your first bet.

Unaccompanied minors are not permitted during this service. As the racecourse restaurant is open on race days, you can continue your discovery there.
