Situated in the heart of Mons, CAP is a museum complex made up of 3 spaces: the Fine Arts Museum, the Maison des Collections and the "Poirier Beurré" garden.
Housed in the recently renovated Maison Jean Lescarts, the Maison des Collections enables visitors to discover the history of Mons through the prism of the city’s art collections. Covering prehistoric times to the present day, the themed tour route features around a hundred exhibits that provide a chronological overview of Mons’ history and heritage, and the societal issues that affect us all. The Maison illustrates how memory and the transmission of heritage are instrumental in shaping a city’s development. It also features the Labo room - a space for dialogue and civic engagement.
