Located on the Vignemale massif, with a breathtaking view of the Cirque de Gavarnie, the Bayssellance refuge is the highest guarded in the Pyrenees.
Built in 1899 and renovated in 2003, this refuge has retained its architectural particularity: copper roof and vaulted structure. Starting point of the normal route of the Vignemale, located in the heart of the National Park, an essential stage of the GR10 or the Haute Route Pyrénéenne, the Bayssellance refuge is an ideal place to enjoy the high mountain atmosphere facing the Ossoue glacier, and discover the Pyrenean fauna and flora, while enjoying the warmth and conviviality of an evening at the refuge.
