Moulés, pralines, giandujas, marzipan, ganaches, guinettes? Les Gourmandises d'Aliénor, an artisan chocolate factory on the Arcachon Basin in La Teste-de-Buch, offers a whole range of traditional French chocolates. All year round, a guided tour of the workshop reveals the secrets of chocolate, from its discovery by the Conquistadors in 1492 to its cultivation around the tropical belt in America, Africa and Asia.
With all your senses awakened, you can watch the chocolatiers at work on this noble material. As they elaborate the various specialties of Les Gourmandises d?Aliénor, these professionals are happy to explain their techniques and show you their tricks of the trade. As you pass by, sample a delicacy and make your selection in the boutique.
