Located in the Combrailles region of the Auvergne, just a few kilometers from the Sancy, come and discover or rediscover a classroom just like the old days, with the scent of chalk, real wood and old paper. We write with pen and purple ink...
To better immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of the 1930s school era, and after a visit to the checkroom where young and old alike don black or gray smocks and high or low galoshes, everyone enters the classroom, an authentic 1930s classroom.
An age-appropriate commentary on the history of Jules Ferry's school precedes the page of writing in violet ink... The hostess plays the role of a schoolteacher from the time of the "Hussards of the Republic", and visitors quickly get into the swing of things in this classroom that smells of chalk, real wood and old paper.
The visit ends with a page of writing in pen and violet ink.
In the exhibition room adjoining the classroom, you'll discover a wealth of treasures. From celluloid dolls and slate pencils, to collections of blotters, notebook covers and class photos, all these objects bear witness to how far we've come since those early days.
The association offers workshops for schools, enabling children to discover the objects and games of yesteryear.

We're offering a fun experience: a 1930s-style classroom. After a visit to the checkroom, where young and old alike don black or grey smocks and high or low galoshes, everyone enters an authentic classroom. An age-appropriate commentary on the history of Jules Ferry's school precedes the page of writing in violet ink. The interactive tour concludes with a tour of the exhibition room.
The tour reveals what life was like in 1930, when being an environmentalist was not a conviction but a necessity. Water from the fountain, little choice of household products or toilets...
