A true gem of the Pays d’Auge, situated near Lisieux, the Château de Saint-Germain de Livet – a listed historic monument – is notable for its 15th- and 16th-century architecture. Surrounded by a moat, it comprises a half-timbered manor house and a building constructed from stone and glazed brick from the Pré d’Auge region.
Nestled in lush greenery, the château can be admired from its gardens, which offer a scenic view of its architectural details – a synthesis of the region’s typical building styles.

A guide provides a free introduction to the château’s history and exterior architecture every day at 11.00, 12.00, 2.30 pm, 3.30 pm and 4.30 pm.
Free guided tour in English every day at 3 pm.

The castle’s interiors are currently being restored and are temporarily closed to the public; free access to the gardens.
