Feudal castle built between the 11th and 15th centuries. Medieval period vestiges include the enclosure (12th - 13th century), two fine vaulted rooms (12th century), the square tower (14th century) and a high octagonal tower (15th century). A Renaissance turret stands alongside the main building. The 17th century stables form a fine ensemble within the courtyard.
During the Second World War, from June to July 1944, the BBC took up residence in the square tower to broadcast information on the D-Day Landings.
