Located in Etain, just a few miles from the Verdun battlefield, is the Hôtel la Sirène, the ideal choice for a night with your significant other or with friends. You will be given a warm welcome by Isabelle and Jean Paul Checinski, in simple rustic surroundings where Emperor Napoleon III stopped for lunch in 1870 after the Battle of Gravelotte. The hotel has 22 well-appointed but affordable rooms.
Guests are served traditional, seasonal fare in the delightful dining room with its large conservatory. From a menu that changes with the seasons, you can choose savoury or sweet dishes skilfully prepared by the chef, including Braised Ham with Peaches, Warm Goat's Cheese with Acacia Honey, or Roast Veal with Lorraine Mirabelle Plums.
