Les Perles de Jade: a hidden treasure in the heart of the Baie de Bourgneuf!

Located in the village of La Bernerie-en-Retz, Les Perles de Jade oyster farm is a story of passion, terroir and excellence. Oyster farmers Maud and Dominique Friou have transformed their love of oysters into a veritable adventure in taste.

The oysters are bred in an exceptional environment: the Baie de Bourgneuf, cradled by the waves of the Atlantic Ocean and located between the Vendée and Loire-Atlantique. This bay is a showcase of biodiversity. Its phytoplankton-rich waters give the oysters a unique flavour. They grow slowly, taking the time to soak up the sea and the sun.

Why "Perles de Jade"? Oyster-farmer Dominique Friou talks about his job, but above all about his products! When he talks about oysters, his eyes light up. It's this passion that gives rise to these exceptional pearls.

Les Perles de Jade won an award at the prestigious Salon de l'Agriculture. A well-deserved recognition of their exceptional quality.

When can you enjoy them?
Any time of year! Perles de Jade are a delight to eat, whether it's the height of summer or the depths of winter. Their firm, iodised flesh is a real treat for the taste buds. Whatever the season, don't forget to accompany them with a Pays de Retz wine.

Where can you find Perles de Jade oysters?


Direct sales at the farm, in the La Sennetière oyster-farming zone in La Bernerie-en-Retz: oysters, seafood (lobsters, crab, mussels, clams, periwinkles, etc.) and local wines.
Direct sales at the La Bernerie-en-Retz markets on Friday mornings all year round, and on Tuesday mornings in July and August.
