Tradition has it that in 1674, a local lord who had survived a hunting accident had a chapel dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul built in gratitude.A pretty limestone slab recalls this foundation "THIS CHAPEL WAS MADE IN THE YEAR 1674".Not much is known about the use of the sanctuary until the end of the 19th century. In 1898, the Saint-Gobain glassworks opened its doors, many houses were built, the chapel was then located on the edge of a large residential area, and tacitly, it became the place of worship for the district.Transformations were made there at the beginning of the 20th century, the development of a new altar with a small sacristy, the construction of a mezzanine rood screen and an external bell tower.Today deserted by the faithful, the place nevertheless benefits from attentive care from the Commune which ensures its restoration and maintenance.Every year, at the end of June, a special event is given at the small sanctuary with the March organized by the local Zouaves Company.
