Long anchored in Walloon rural folklore, the Grands Feux are symbols of purification and the return of light after winter. The one in Tongrinne is organized every year, in February or March, depending on the weather conditions. During the evening, a witch doll - which symbolizes winter and evil - is thrown into a pyre made with Christmas trees. This festivity offers a real moment of conviviality. Traditionally, it is possible to taste a special beer and a piece of flammekueche while enjoying the show. For more information on this tradition: traces-memoire.ardennebelge.be/les-grands-feux-une-tradition-ardenne/
