As is often the case in the Pyrenean mountains, the shepherd had his little house, "the hut", which was next to a second building reserved for cattle and called "the barn". Bengase is a shepherd's hut in the Aspe Valley, between Pau and Zaragoza, at an altitude of 830 m. The site is in complete autonomy: it has a solar electric installation and a certified spring water collection. All local services are in the Bedous valley, 20 minutes away. A driveable path (paved but not tarmacked for 800 m) leads there after several bends and hairpin bends.
This corner of paradise has to be deserved but once up there, you'll only want to stay there, never to leave as the landscapes are so magical. The wooden enclosure will protect you from the unexpected visit of your neighbours, the sheep and horses. Numerous hiking trails and the Cirque de Lescun are just a few steps away.
