Les jardins du Château de Losmonerie

Three gardens, awarded the "Remarkable Garden" label, surround the Château de Losmonerie:
- a formal flower garden surrounding the historic buildings
- a gourmet walk with rare fruit trees and a collection of raspberry bushes
- a wild garden, an exceptional site on the banks of the Vienne, with its wicker hut (designed by Emmanuel Puybonnieux).
Visitors can sample over 100 varieties of raspberry.
The château was built in 1540 by Jean Chantois, elected for the King, in the spirit of a Renaissance country house (tower, staircase, gallery, chapel). In the following century, Jean de Lubersac built the entire courtyard. In the 18th century, the Texandier de Losmonerie family, officers of the Limoges Finance Office, brought 18th-century refinement to the interior (tapestry and furniture classified as Historic Monuments, pictorial decorations).
