This memorial museum has recently been founded in the Villa Lawrance, in the heart of the park of the same name.
The project is the result of an initiative of former Resistance fighters, war veterans and deportees.
Inaugurated on 10 March 2007, it displays many objects, posters and models representing this difficult period as it was experienced in the Béarn.
The donations were made by private citizens, identified by the elders, and displayed in this museum, which is unique in the department.
The Museum of the Resistance and Deportation carries a strong message intended for all generations to perpetuate the obligation of memory.
Located in the heart of a mansion dating to 1850 set in large and wooded Parc Lawrance.
