Les fresques de l'église Saint-Eutrope
Description
30 km from Marmande, between Duras and Miramont-de-Guyenne, come and discover the Romanesque church dedicated to Saint-Eutrope (Bishop of Saintes, martyred in the 3rd century). You'll find listed frescoes from the late 15th and early 16th centuries depicting the Passion of Christ, the Last Judgment and Hell. Visits are free every day, with an explanatory manual, or can be guided on request.
Permanent exhibition of an important 17th-century painting, recently rediscovered, depicting Christ at the tomb. It is listed in the archives of the town hall, and is part of the Monuments Historiques inventory. One of the finest paintings in Lot-et-Garonne.
