In the Val de Dronne a few kilometres from Ribérac, the Gallo-Roman Museum of Petit-Bersac presents the history of the archaeological site of Cidène. This village of the Périgord Vert is indeed located in a region occupied since pre-Roman times and a number of remarkable remains, including thermal baths and a large sewer, are buried there.
During the excavations carried out on the spot by the archaeologist Jean Pichardie, many objects were unearthed, objects which are now exhibited in this communal museum set up in the outbuildings of the church. Pottery, ceramics, bronzes, ornaments, coins and tools are presented in a vast room equipped with display cases and explanatory panels. Take advantage of your visit to discover the Romanesque church of Petit-Bersac, or its beach..
