Chapelle du Sauveur
Description
Chapelle du Sauveur is a neo-Gothic building. Construction began in 1867, to plans by Abbé Chevalt, and was completed in 1871.
The chapel belonged to the convent of the Congrégation des s?urs du Sauveur et de la Sainte-Vierge (founded by Mère Marie de Jésus du Bourg). The convent is now occupied by the "Traces de pas" association. In addition to the chapel, the convent included a pleasure garden, a vegetable garden, farm buildings and a funeral chapel housing the bodies of several superiors.
The Chapelle du Sauveur, located between the street and the garden, features a five-bay nave, two side chapels and a choir with a three-sided chevet. It is built on a basement level, which contains a small crypt housing the tomb of the order?s founder.
It currently houses the Sauveur organ, which has been restored
