On Midsummer's Day, four young girls from Bonges and Chez-Bouchet were returning from mass at Lamazière-Haute. Arriving at a small plain that crosses the road from Eygurande to Châteauvert, they had the idea of dancing a round. No sooner had they started than an unknown young man asked them to join in the dance. When they refused, he left, casting a spell over them. From that moment on, the round took on a dizzying pace, and despite their parents coming to fetch them, they continued to dance until sunrise. At that moment, the spell of the Evil Spirit was broken, and, exhausted, they were finally able to return to their homes. Since then, the plain has been known as the Plaine des Filles, and when a young woman from Bonges or Chez-Bouchet gets married, the wedding party, whatever the weather, stops to dance a ronde, a bourrée or a montagne
