In front of the bay of Txingudi and Fontarabie, there are traces of a fortress that, in its final form, lived from 1686 to 1793. A military work that had the merit of pacifying the passions caused using the Bidassoa, guaranteeing, within the framework of the strategy developed by Vauban, its defence mission of Bayona, the key to the southern entrance of the Kingdom of France.
Passion Txingudi, during a visit of approximately one hour, proposes to interpret these vestiges, situate them in their architectural and military context and revive this fortress through anecdotes taken from research works of an entire team.
