The Platon marsh (small meadow) was formed behind the dune belt, around the former bed of the Seulles river when it moved its mouth from Bernières to Courseulles. It is home to a wide variety of plant species and an abundance of wildlife (fish, amphibians and insects), including two rare species: the Natterjack Toad and the Maritime Ruppia, an aquatic plant.
Les Amis du Platon organizes guided or storytelling outings several times a year.
