
The "Blankenese" battery at Néville-sur-Mer is located to the north-east of the Cotentin peninsula.
This battery belonged to the Kriegsmarine and was equipped with 4 British Vickers 94 mm M/39 anti-aircraft guns in Casemates type 1xM271 2xM158 1xSK.
She was scuttled on the morning of June 18, 1944 by the sailors occupying her in application of the "Henrich" plan, which was launched on the same day and ordered the withdrawal to the "Festung" Cherbourg.
