Today, Clos Floridène is a 40-hectare vineyard in the Graves appellation, located mainly on the limestone plateau of Pujols sur Ciron. Its name evokes the first names of its founders: Denis and Florence Dubourdieu.
At the outset, in 1982, Clos Floridène was a small enclosure comprising 2 hectares of old vines, a winemaker's house, an old wine storehouse and 2 hectares of fallow land. Gradually, through successive purchases of neighboring plots, the current vineyard was built up.
The property?s historic winegrower?s house was renovated in 2016 and converted into a guest house, with an adjoining function room, enabling Le Clos Floridène to organize events and launch its notourism activities.
Completed in 2018, it will have taken 36 years of work to establish Le Clos Floridène as an independent, world-renowned winegrowing entity.
