Il doit son nom a une fontaine qui faisait partie des 3 puits artésiens de Taussat où nombre d’habitants allaient puiser l’eau. Construit en 1975 par un entrepreneur, il était la propriété d’une société chargée de sa gestion. Il a été repris en 2011 par la municipalité.
