The Gergovie plateau from Pérignat-lès-Sarliève by mountain bike

A very natural walk, with the Gergovie plateau as a highlight; a compendium of curiosities and history, and a great lesson in regional geography, thanks to the ever-changing views along the way.
Note the astonishing puy de Mardoux, a geological curiosity dominating a landscape marked by the civilization of the vine.

Departure point: Car park near the square on rue Marcel-Magard, off the main rue de la République / Romagnat

Difficulty: 400m ascent from Pérignat; 315m from Romagnat, but a gradual climb with no difficulties.
