“Bimbeloterie” is the French term used to define the trade of all sorts of wood-turned trinkets: spinning tops, cases, whistles, wooden taps, jumping rope handles, etc. Nearly every home still has a few old specimens once made by parents or grandparents in the family workshop. The Vulvoz wood-turning workshop was built in the 1920s as an extension to a farm and manufactured yoyos, pen holders and rattles up until the 1970s.
