At the northernmost point, take the track overlooking the plantation and returning to the entrance to the plot, then return to Astis via the same route. You may be lucky enough to spot some of the numerous deer that inhabit this area. You will notice plastic tubes around the trunks which, in addition to creating a greenhouse effect that promotes plant growth, also protect young trees from the appetite of deer. Browsing, rubbing and bark stripping are the three types of damage caused by deer, with significant consequences for wood growth.
