Description

The Vieux Chêne has made Allouville-Bellefosse, a small village in the Pays de Caux, famous. This thousand-year-old tree is said to be the oldest oak in France. It dates back to the time of Charlemagne. As it grew older, it hollowed out, sheltering two superimposed chapels. Indeed, this oak is the object of special devotion. It was classified as a historical monument in 1932.
