The Pilot
Rose-Anne Achard, pilot since 1995 ? Instructor since 2014 ? Aerial events organizer ? Flight Director.
She discovered hot-air ballooning in 1991, through a chance encounter at a country fair one spring afternoon?
First a passenger, then a crew member, a student pilot, a crew member in national and international competitions, a pilot and finally a pilot-instructor, she is still passionate about the sport. The emotion of the balloon?s inflation remains intact, and she is always keen to share her passion.
Hot-air ballooning
An invention of Etienne and Joseph Montgolfier in 1783. At the time, the envelope was made of cotton-covered paper, and the burner was a fire made of wood and rags. Today, the envelope is made of nylon and the burner is fuelled by propane, but the principle remains the same: the air contained in the envelope must be heated to lift the balloon
