Description

This castle is a private mansion from the 17th century, Louis XIII style. It was built by Bry de la Clergerie, an historian from the Perche. The castle was then extended by Abrial, a minister under Napoléon the first. It became the house of writer Roger Martin du Gard, Nobel price of litterature in 1937. Its french style park offers a panoramic view of the town of Bellême and its forest. Tour of the outside and the park.
Visit of the office and the library of Roger Martin du Gard, only by appointments, same for off-season tour.
