Built at the request of Nicolas de Costentin seigneur de Tourville, work on the chapel was carried out by one of his relatives, Germain Jacquet, in 1495.
The Jacquet family also took charge of its upkeep when the Constentin de Tourville family left the manor of La Vallée to settle in Coutances.
Abandoned after the French Revolution, the chapel was restored and returned to worship in 1945 under the name of Notre-Dame de la Paix.
Outside the chapel, you'll find a sign explaining its origins, as well as a picnic table.
