Beach in front of the CRS station
The beaches of the Côte des Isles first became popular in the 20th century, when sea bathing was booming, aided by the Paris-Carteret rail link. Since then, they have continued to delight young and old alike, sheltered from the Atlantic swell by the Channel Islands and warmed by the Gulf Stream. On the other side of the XIII-arched bridge, the long beach of Port-Bail is a meeting place for water sports aficionados and those simply looking to relax in the sun.
Nearby parking and 2 handicapped parking lots on the beach.
First-aid post 100 m from the parking lot.
Access to the water via an inclined surface, 2 Tiralo chairs available at the first-aid post.
"Lifeguards from the A2S association will be on hand to supervise the bathing areas when the flags are raised.
All swimming is prohibited and dangerous in the harbor access channel, the north and south harbors. Anyone who swims does so at their own risk, as is the case on the unsupervised beaches of Lindbergh in Saint Lo d?Ourville and Denneville.
Dogs, even on a leash, are forbidden on the beaches in July and August from 10 am to 7 pm. They are tolerated on a leash outside these periods. In the event of dog faeces, owners are responsible for removing them.
During July and August, horses are allowed to circulate before 10 a.m. and after 7 p.m. in low-water areas, outside the supervised bathing area and the float zone.
Bottom-line fishing is prohibited from June 1 to September 15 inclusive in the area between "la Caillourie" and 200 m beyond the property occupied by the VVF, as well as in Port-Bail's southern harbor.
