Parcours Carpe de Nuit sur la Vire

Around Saint-Lô and Pont-Hébert, the current of the Vire is slowed down by the closed dams which line it. The deep reaches of the sector, with clear banks and easy access by the towpath, shelter a high density of white fish and fighting carp (common carp) of interesting size, the record to beat being set at 17.6 kg. These reaches regularly host fishing competitions of national level.
