Porte Calendrale
Description
The Porte Calendale is a Romanesque gateway at the northern entrance to Barbentane.
The recently restored Porte Calendrale commanded the northern entrance to Barbentane. There is a wonderful view of this gate from the end of the Grand'Rue. All that remains of the 11th century ramparts is a defensive tower which was transformed into a prison and used until 1826.
