The village of Saint-Floret

Nestling against the rock along the Couze Pavin, the village of Saint-Floret is protected by the keep of a fortified castle. At its foot, winegrowers' houses are served by medieval alleyways.
There are still important remains of the feudal complex that defends the village of Saint-Floret. The lower castle preserves magnificent 14th century frescos. It is the only French representation of a version of Tristan's novel
Overlooking the village is the site of Le Chastel with its Romanesque church. During developments in the late 1970s, a series of rock tombs were discovered south of the church, dug into the rock. These cavities are called anthropomorphic for their shape adapted to the human body.
