You do not yet know the Armand Pellegrin Museum, the museum of pedagogy? Push the doors of this former municipal school and go to meet teaching practices from the past... Immerse yourself in the school atmosphere of the past, but also in the countless memories of an absolutely fascinating time in the entity of Hélécine.The museum's collections began with Armand Pellegrin, the boys' teacher at Opheylissem school. He created an educational corner in his class to bear witness to Belgium's 100 years of existence. This exhibition was so successful that he decided to turn it into a museum… Over the years, the collections have only grown. From the start, Armand Pellegrin was helped by a little student, Maurice Dewolf, who would become the museum's curator.The museum recently reinvented itself. Check out the new classroom space, showcases and exhibits, temporary exhibition hall and local artists' showroom. At the end of your visit, you can relax under the covered terrace with a drink. Taste one of the museum's two new beers: Pellegrin and Dewolf, both brewed at the Jandrain-Jandrenouille brewery.The museum is on the left of the road, 400 meters after the Château d'Hélécine.You can also rent a space in the museum to host events. This includes a fully equipped cafeteria, a covered terrace, an outdoor space with a tent and a large garden. This space is available all week except Sunday mornings and you can contact the museum about renting spaces.
