Construit vers 15 av JC (5 000 places) puis agrandissement au IIe s ap JC (10 000 places). L'un des plus grand de Gaule après celui d'Autun.
N'a été redécouvert qu'au début du 20e s. après des fouilles dans un champ d'oliviers.
