Fountain of the Danaïdes
Description
The front chain of the group of Danaïdes is treated in a beautiful Carrara marble: the sculptor borrowed this theme from mythology to exalt the theme of water.
Fountain of Art Nouveau style, work of the sculptor Jean Hughes. It was inaugurated in 1907. Reminder of the theme of the myth of the Danaïdes: they are condemned to fill a bottomless barrel for eternity.
