Since 1862, the history of the RIVES house is mixed with the Mazametain industry, originally centered on spinning, then transformed into woolen industry( separation of the wool from the skin).
From 1950, the company became one of the leaders of its profession. The development of its export activities requires that RIVES ensure better control of sources of supply. In 1956, RIVES was established in MELBOURNE, followed by the creation of several purchasing agencies in Australia.
At the end of the 1990s, when many Mazamétain companies did not resist the deterioration of the world market of wool and leather, in France RIVES, put its skills to good use and developped an autonomous purchasing structure for raw skins.
Today, RIVES SAS sells 2,500,000 skins of sheep, goats and rabbits and exports more than 90% of its production per year.
A series of finished products aimed at distributing all kinds of products made from the skins of sheep, rabbits or cows, was created in 2007.
The RIVES 1862 brand offers a wide range of Made in France goods, handcrafted from our selections of French and Australian skins.
