The Bréviande forest

Description

The Bréviande regional forest covers almost 3,500 hectares and extends over a large part of the Melun Val de Seine conurbation.
In the Middle Ages, this forest was owned by the Abbey of Saint-Denis.
In the 17th century, it passed into the hands of the Duke of Orléans, who built a hunting lodge on the site of the current forest house. The layout of the estate can still be seen in the remains of the surrounding wall and the layout of the avenues linked by star-shaped crossroads. This verdant massif offers visitors countless opportunities for walking and cycling.
